ABOUT THE AUTHOR 
Elometer Victoria Thomas was born in St. Elizabeth Jamaica. A certified dress designer and seamstress by profession. She moved to the United States in 1978 with her husband and two children. After working for two dress companies she became a seamstress for the New York Marriott Marquis in Times Square, where she workes for for 20 years.
Her job as a seamstress gave her the opportunity to interacted with people from throughout the world. Her experiences with diversity gave her the courage to write about coping with hearing loss.
Elometer, who lives in New Jersey, became a U.S. citizen in 1992.
